ABOUT LINA AND HER SHOP

Dance by Lina was founded by its namesake, a Japanese girl who grew up in Manila, when a friend suggested she start her own dance line. Dancing since she was three before deciding to pursue dance as a career. At the age of 13 she got accepted in the Ballet Manila company as a scholar and she danced with the ballet company for 6 years until deciding that she still wanted to focus on other passions while still dancing with a ballet school and travelling to other countries whilst exploring other styles and techniques of dance. After leaving the company she completed her 2 degrees in International Studies Major in Japanese studies at De La Salle University in Manila and BS Accountancy.   She took her certification in Russian Methodology in Riga, Latvia under Irina Trofimova the only remaining living student of Aggripina Vaganova and other Vaganova academy teachers, Cyrill Atanassoff, Aleksandr Stjopin and Elena Sherstneva last July-August 2017. She also recently was invited to take an International training conference at the Vaganova Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. Observing and taking classes under teachers such as Nikolai Tsiskaridze, Vadim Sirotin and Fethon Miozzi.   Her passion for sewing started at the age of 12 when her mother taught her how to use the sewing machine. Since then she has been sewing her own ballet skirts, leg warmers and other things that she could experiment on sewing by herself.   Lina hopes to share her positive energy to her customers and her love for dance through everything she makes. You could follow her on her blog thebackpackingballerina.com
